8 Simple Makeup Tips For Faking Flawless, Glowing Skin
With dewy highlighters, your skin-but-better foundations, and blushes (you know what) that mimic a post-intercourse glow, we're definitely not short of makeup that's trying to give us a no-makeup look all in all. While you may like to wear bold lipstick or feline eyeliner, when it comes to skin tone makeup, the most natural results are achieved when your skin still looks like skin. That said, if you don't have a supernaturally flawless complexion (in other words, you're someone who likes the occasional full-fat latte and doesn't suffer from hormonal bursts), create an even, glowing canvas using the right Tools and products to help with foundation, concealer and powder at your fingertips. In the spirit of achieving "MLBB" skin equivalence, we enlisted the help of makeup artists to share their best beauty products recommendations for your best skin. From prepping your face to a concealer crash course, keep reading for our eight best tips for beautiful skin with the power of makeup.

Forget what you know about the "everyday makeup routine".
Makeup artist Kristofer Buckle advises, "Instead of following a routine or a makeup chart, really look at your skin and decide where you need help each day." Our problem areas are always changing - sometimes we have more redness, others Days we can be puffy or break out. "Just as you would change eyeshadow or lipstick, try choosing a variety of products with different levels of coverage, or look for makeup that does double duty.
Think of skin care as your makeup primer.
Tell me: prepare, prepare, prepare. Almost every expert we spoke to said that the best way to ensure a beautiful complexion before applying makeup is to create a healthy base for your foundation and concealer. While matte, oil-blocking primers seem like the logical choice to ensure a flawless look, more and more artists are looking to their skincare products to get the job done. "I tend not to use face primers because they interfere with the application of foundation," says makeup artist Fiona Stiles, who preps her clients' skin with moisturizer to ensure a healthy glow from within.

Another option? "Start with exfoliating pads," recommends makeup artist Katie Jane Hughes, who swears by Elemis Dynamic Resurfacing Pads. "It's the most important step for glowing, because if you don't, you're just putting the product on dead skin." (Author's note: Make sure to apply sunscreen regularly, as peels can make your skin light-sensitive.) Down, Hughes suggests layering a moisturizer, like Augustinus Bader's The Cream, or spending 15 minutes doing a mask for the best glow.

"I also love using a face roller like Jenny Patinkin's Rose Quartz Roller on the jawline, eye sockets, and cheekbones," says Stiles. "It's a soft, easy way to make someone's face soft."
