During the 1860s, the area where the station now stands was a major crossroads for two significant railroads — the Orange and Alexandria Railroad and the Manassas Gap Railroad. These lines were critical supply routes during the war, making Manassas one of the most strategic locations in the entire conflict. When the war ended, and peace slowly returned, the railroads that had once carried soldiers and supplies began transporting civilians, traders, and families. Out of this renewal came the early form of the Manassas Station, which soon became a cornerstone of regional travel and commerce.
