This might have worked – except that during the fight, Blizzard added a new mechanic. The Mawforged Colossus now has an enrage timer of its own that activates as soon as Sylvanas becomes targetable, and if it’s not killed quickly, it’ll wipe out the whole raid group, as Dot Esports explains.

The European guild "Echo" had devised a tactic in which a tank distracted the "Mawforged Colossus" while the rest of the group could cause as much damage as possible to Sylvanas. This approach looked very promising so far and led to the best attempts so far with the boss opponent. But the hotfix completely destroys the tactics, which logically means a big setback for the guild.

Echo was using this to get Sylvanus below 45 per cent before her enrage activated and she became extremely powerful. However, during one of their runs, the spawned enemy had its own enrage timer. Now when Sylvanus became damageable, the spawned enemy would instantly down the tank, completely ruining Echoes strategy.

Since Noawh couldn’t do damage to the Colossus fast enough on their own, Echo got sent back to the drawing board on raid boss strategy right in the middle of fighting the boss.

This was a frustrating setback for Echo, now six days into the race for world’s first to beat the final boss in the Sanctum of Domination raid on mythic.
